Thomas is a partner at Valin Partners LLP. He conducts a practice that focuses on a number areas of the law, including Municipal Law, Civil Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Employment & Labour Law, Real Estate Law (Residential and Commercial), Wills & Trusts, Estate Law (including Guardianship Applications), Corporate & Commercial Law, Construction Lien Act matters and Personal Injury claims.
Prior to attending law school, Thomas obtained his baccalaureate with honours in Classical Studies at Queen’s University, where he was a Dean’s List student. Afterwards, Thomas attended the University of Western Ontario Law. While attending school at Queen’s and UWO, Thomas competed for both Varsity Track and Field teams, qualifying to both the OUA and CIS Championships numerous times and also being named an Academic All Canadian on multiple occasions.
Originally from London, Thomas worked in the Elgin County Crown Attorney’s office and also articled at a large prestigious law firm in London prior to moving to North Bay. He served as a naval intelligence officer with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves for over 7 years, served as a Director for Crime Stoppers of London-Elgin-Middlesex and served on the Executive Board for a local Provincial Riding Association.
Thomas, his lovely wife Chantelle and their gaggle of dogs and cats moved to the North Bay area as a result of the love they have for the area and the northern Ontario way of life. When not in the office, you can often find Thomas enjoying the outdoors: hunting with his German Shorthaired Pointers, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing.
